Innovative Activity Facility at Olsvikåsen Upper Secondary School

Curve Studio will design a new and ambitious outdoor area at Olsvikåsen Upper Secondary School in Bergen. The client is Vestland County Municipality, and the project is part of the county’s initiative to create inclusive meeting places for children and young people, with a focus on high architectural quality and innovative features.
The facility will include, among other things, a nature trail with activity stations, sensory and reflection gardens, as well as a variety of social zones. The goal is to create an inclusive and engaging outdoor space that benefits students, staff, and the local community. The project builds on a feasibility study developed by Lala Tøyen in 2022, and extensive user involvement has shaped its content.
The executing contractor is BS Vest AS, and the landscaping will be carried out by Jans Hageservice AS. Construction is scheduled to start in the summer of 2025, with completion planned for the winter of 2025/2026.
