Opening of Bjerkreim Health Center

On October 22., the new health center in Bjerkreim opened.

Residents of Bjerkreim can be proud of the building and deserve an offering as good as the Bjerkreim Health Center, said municipal director Ørjan Daltveit in his speech. ‘I’m a little unsure whether it’s we—or perhaps others—who have declared this Norway’s finest health center, but it is truly magnificent,’ said Mayor Tone Vaule.

The health center has cost around 350 million kroner, which is roughly the same as the municipality’s annual budget. In addition to 38 institutional care places, the center includes eight assisted-living units with round-the-clock staffing, and no less than 6,000 square meters of adapted outdoor areas, consisting of, among other things, an entrance plaza, a park, a sensory garden, and walking paths. Approximately 40 trees, 600 shrubs, and over 1,000 perennials have been planted, helping to create a green and inviting setting around the center.

Curve Studio designed the outdoor areas and landscape in all phases of the project, working closely with the municipality and users to create a cohesive facility based on care and positive experiences. We are grateful for the trust, and congratulate the residents of Bjerkreim on their new health center.
